Why Andre Villas-Boas could be best for Liverpool?

May 23, 2012

 Andre Villas-Boas, Dalglish replacement,

After the sacking of Kenny Dalglish, there have been many rumours doing the rounds for King Kenny’s perfect replacement at Anfield. Fabio Capello, Didier Deschamps, AV Boas, Roberto Martinez seem to be in Liverpool’s radar for the prestigious job. Who knows, if Liverpool’s American owners do not go in for anyone of these and get someone else. Any thing is possible . But, for Liverpool fans and the club, it would be great if the former Chelsea manager, AV Boas replaces Dalglish.

AV Boas fits into the Liverpool scheme of things perfectly , as the owners have always been emphasizing on young players for the future. It would be great if the Fenway Group decides to go in with the same principle for the top job too. He could be the right person for the long run. He can play a vital role in building a team and win trophies for Liverpool in the near future. But Liverpool want immediate success, as was proved by Dalglish’s sacking.

Boas was sacked as Chelsea’s manager midway during the season. He wanted to take the club to greater heights but he was not even given a full season to prove his credentials. He has been one of the best managers in the game for Porto, under which they won many titles. He knows how to get the best out of the players. He may have a strong desire to prove himself in the English Premier League and Liverpool needs to cash in before its too late. For a manager like him, he may be wanted elsewhere too, so Liverpool needs to act swiftly. His short stint with Chelsea could come in handy for him. In fact, he was at the wrong place at the wrong time in Chelsea.

So, Anfield could be the best destination for him too, where they have a good squad. It could be a win-win situation for both AVB and Liverpool. Some extra addition on Liverpool’s squad by AVB could make the team more stronger if he gets the vacant position at Anfield.

His success in the European competition for Porto will only help his case for Liverpool, as the club seems to be desperate to play club football at the highest level. He could probably be the right man for Liverpool, as he has a good understanding of the game at the highest level. But if he gets the job, he must stand up to the expectations of the Fenway Sports Group, which would be a daunting task. But one has to remember, roping in Andre Boas would still not bring in favourable results for the club, until  the players play a good game on the pitch. But, he can definitely help the players in their preparation for various competitions.
