Wimbledon 2013 finals: Marion Bartoli Vs Sabine Lisicki

Marion Bartoli will play Sabine Lisicki in the finals of Wimbledon 2013. After a hard fought win, both these players would be looking forward to their second and first Wimbledon finals respectively.

Lisicki defeated the highest remaining seed (4), Agnieszka Radwanska with the score reading 6-4, 2-6 and 9-7, which was a truly an inspiring performance after losing the second set. Bartoli, on the other hand was amazing in his performance, where she won the match 6-1 and 6-2 over Kirsten Flipkens.

More so, Marion Bartoli has been in amazing form right throughout the tournament, where she has not lost a single set. With players such as Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams already having being ousted from the competition, Bartoli’s chances of winning Wimbledon 2013 has increased. Bartoli was the runners-up in 2007 Wimbledon championships.

Lisicki route to the finals may have been a bumpy one with few matches also stretching till the third set. But, with the number of top players that Lisicki has defeated in the competition such as Radwanska and Serena Williams has increased her confidence. Hence, one may say that Lisicki is the favourite to win Wimbledon 2013 title.

The fight between 15th seed, Marion Bartoli and 23rd Sabine Lisicki is expected to be a clash of the titans, with both the players yet to win any grand slam till date.
