Football transfers: Higuain close to Arsenal deal, Anelka signs for West Brom, City wants Pepe

July 5, 2013

Gonzalo Higuain is said to be on the verge of signing a three year contract with Arsenal from Real Madrid for GBP 23 million. After weeks and weeks of speculation, the deal is finally said to have gone through, which would bolster Arsenal’s striking options in the upcoming season.

Bromwich Albion has managed to sign Nicolas Anelka, a free agent from Juventus, who has a rich experience of playing in the English Premier League for five different clubs in the past.

The Portuguese defender, Pepe is on the radar of Manchester City’s new manager, Manuel Pellegrini, as his defensive summer one target.

Leandro Damiao, the Brazilain star, who has gathered interest primarily from Tottenham Hotspur, has also found another club, Southampton, who is ready to shell out big money for the Brazilian.

With Edinson Cavani being one of the most wanted strikers, it is rumoured that PSG might price out both EPL clubs, Chelsea and Manchester City in acquiring his services.
