May 30, 2013

Spurs

San Antonio Spurs has reached the NBA finals after defeating teams such as Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies. They have so far been the best team in the Western conference just stamping their class over their opponents.

They did not lose a single game against the Lakers in the first round, 4-0 in the best of seven matches. But, in the second round, it was not so easy, as they were playing Golden State Warriors, who has been impressive in the regular NBA season and many considered them to be the favourites as well at the end of the season. Warriors lost 4-2 after a spirited display by San Antonio Spurs. Against Memphis Grizzlies, they looked at their menacing best whipping them 4-0 from the playoffs.

Big players such as Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili have been instrumental in the playoffs so far helping SAS reach the NBA finals. Though, it is understood that these players may lack the physical agility, but their experience of playing together reflects in the way they go on with their game. Their understanding is top class amongst themselves. But, apart from these players, other such as Quincy Pondexter and Leonard has also played a good hand in helping them win.

San Antonio Spurs are going to face either Miami Heat or Indiana Pacers in NBA finals, who are tied at two games a piece in the seven match contest. It can be anybody’s game with three left to play. Many neutral fans would love to witness a Miami and Spurs final, where quality players would be in action from both sides. Spurs last won the NBA finals in 2007. Miami, on the other hand won it last season.
