Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho were both sent off in the Copa Del Rey finals against Atletico Madrid, which Ateltico won in extra-time. After the game finished 1-1 in the regulation period of play, Joao Miranda scored with his head in the 99th minute to win the trophy. Atletico Madrid created history by defeating Jose Mourinho side, Real Madrid after 14 years. It was an amazing feat by a team, which were primarily considered second favourites last night with the number of stars included in Real Madrid line up.

But, what made the headlines was Mourinho being sent off from the touchline for his numerous protests against fouls and refereeing decisions. It was even more of a disaster when Ronaldo was shown the dreaded red card during the extra-time. Any hopes of Madrid making a comeback was brought down to ashes after Ronaldo notoriously kicked Atletico captain Gabi primarily in the dying minutes of the game, where anything could have happened.

But, this was not the only instance, which made the talking point, as tempers were flying in the dying minutes of the game. As a result of which the Atletico skipper, was also booked for the second time to see red. Luka Modric also went a go at the Atletico player, Koke, but both players controlled emotions in the niche of time.

To be fair, the Real Madrid players were unlucky as well to see them on the losing side. Madrid came close to goal on many an instances, especially in the second half where they hit the woodwork twice along with a shot from Mesut Ozil, blocked on the line by a Atletico player.

The two Real Madrid men who were sent off, Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho future hangs on the balance, with the latter almost a certainty to leave Real Madrid. As for Cristiano, it depends on Real Madrid and the player himself to decide upon the future. It is understood, these two men are in good demand across Europe.
