IPL 2013: Rajasthan Royals Vs Pune Warriors preview

April 10, 2013

Pune Warriors IPL 2013

Two teams with contrasting IPL 2013 record, Pune Warriors and Rajasthan Royals are set to play against one another tomorrow at Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium, Pune. Rajasthan Royals won both their opening IPL 2013 matches and Pune Warriors lost both their matches. But these results do not reflect the quality of teams, as Pune Warriors is considered to be one of the strongest teams in the IPL with some quality players.

But, Pune Warriors having started on the worst possible manner, it is very important for them to showcase their talent and win the game, thus bag their first points in the medal tally as well. Rajasthan Royals with their comparatively weaker side would like to win their third consecutive IPL game, and reach the top of the IPL standings table.

It is surprising to see a team like Pune Warriors lose , for they have some of the best players of world cricket such as Angelo Matthews, their captain, Ross Taylor, Aaron Finch, Luke Wright, Steve Smith making up their foreign players. Their domestic players are also strong and have some reputed T20 players namely Robin Uthappa, Yuvraj Singh, Rahul Sharma, Ashok Dinda, Bhuvneshwar Kumar etc. It might just be a matter of time for these players to get into the groove. Once they find their rythm, they could be the team to beat. Rajasthan would not want Pune to rocket back to form against them.

Royals has been one of the surprising teams in the IPL 2013, as they are considered to be one of the weaker sides in the competition. They may not possess quality players in quantity, but they have dedicated players who can surely give it their all in the competition. This is what separates the two teams. But, with Watson and Tait in Royals ranks, they have two of the most explosive players in their team. Other players such as Rahul Dravid, Brad Hodge, Kevon Cooper, Stuart Binny also needs to chip in to bring the best out of the Royals.
