Messi hamstring

Barcelona’s sensational player, Lionel Messi limped off during halftime and was only to be replaced by another star player, Cesc Fabregas. It has been reported that the Barcelona goal machine has suffered a right hamstring injury and might keep him out of competitive action for the coming weeks. But, the real picture of the injury can only be drawn on Wednesday, when the Argentinean player will go for some more tests.

Barcelona fans along with their players will keep their fingers crossed, as he is the most important player for Barcelona and his absence for some matches could hurt them badly. Hence, irrespective of Barca’s draw against PSG, it was Messi’s injury, which grabbed the headlines. During the game, as usual Messi looked good in the first half, where he even put Barcelona ahead with his goal in the 38th minute.

Some suggest that the player is going to be out of action for almost 4-6 weeks, which means Messi would not be able to play in the return leg of the Quarter-finals. His injury could be the difference between the winner and loser in the second leg, if Messi’s wednesday test reveals further damage. The Spanish giants may not miss him much in the La Liga fixtures, as they have their hands on the domestic title, but they would want a fit Messi for the remainder of the Champions League matches.

It is not only Messi, who was injured during their quarter-final game against PSG, but also Javier Mascherano, who injured his knee. But, it is the Argentinean injury which is a bigger concern, as he is an impossible player to replace for Barcelona.
