April 1, 2013

KKR owner ban on MCA

Wankhede stadium would not witness Shahrukh Khan, the owner of the IPL franchise when Mumbai Indians play Kolkata Knight Riders on May 7, 2013 in the sixth edition of IPL 2013. The king of bollywood was banned entry from last year itself into the MCA premises after his clash with security staff in a IPL match last season. The ban is said to last for five years.

When there were rumours stating that the ban might be lifted this season and would be allowed entry into the stadium. But, the MCA seems to be hell bent and stated it clearly that the ban is not going to be lifted and will stay for five years. It has been reported that the MCA had also met with Mumbai Indians and IPL officials as well. They have put discipline above the famous celebrity.

The IPL chief, Rajiv Shukla had earlier felt that the owner would be allowed entry inside the ground, as he is a owner of a IPL franchise, but he has been proved wrong. In the next few days Rajiv Shukla will talk about the matter personally with MCA president Ravi Savant and see what best can be done in this episode.
