Great players deliver the goods when it matters most. Real Madrid fans along with their team mates were counting on Ronaldo to come up with a good performances as they took on Barcelona in the semi-finals of King’s cup. And the player had put on his scoring boots in the night at the Nou Camp. He scored a brace to help Real Madrid progress into the finals with the score reading 3-1. On aggregate, Real Madrid won the tie 4-2.

Cristiano Ronaldo was the star player of the game for Real Madrid. He scored in both the first as well as second half of the game, where he scored a penalty and another goal from open play in the first and second half respectively. He created a lot of problems for the Barcelona defenders, who found it a difficult task to put an end to a night, which would be remembered for his classic game by his fans, which are not only scattered only in Madrid but also in other parts around the world.

This loss for Barcelona has diminished all their hopes of winning the treble this season. But, they can still win two titles – La Liga and the UEFA Champions League with the latter being a huge task with the team already trailing against the Italian giants, AC Milan.

The match had also been dubbed as not only Real Madrid Vs Barcelona, but also between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. But, it was a night, where Lionel Messi remained silent and could not find his name on the score sheet, which is a rare thing for Barcelona supporters, who has made it a habit of scoring goals wearing Barcelona colours. There were instances, when Messi came close to scoring, but failed to find the back of the net.

With Real Madrid having won the important El-Classico match, they are going to meet the winners of the other semi-final between Sevilla and Atletico Madrid in the final of the King’s cup. Real Madrid cannot take either of the teams lightly, which reaches the finals, as it is the team that plays well on the particular day who will walk away with the coveted title – King’s cup.
