Neymar the most wanted striker by Manchester City

February 19, 2013

In the last friendly match between England and Brazil, which England won at Wembley, Manchester City top executives, Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain had come with a particular agenda in their mind. They were not interested in the outcome nor the match, but on Neymar, the Brazilian striker. It has been said that these executives met Neymar’s representative for a summer move to Manchester City. Initial talks are said to have taken place.

But, it is not going to be an easy task for City to sign the player, as there are are a number of top clubs across Europe interested in his services, such as Chelsea and Barcelona just to name a few. The player currently holds a contract with Santos, which runs till 2014. But irrespective of the team, which is able to sign the player, the club has to empty their pockets a great deal. Santos is aware of the player’s demand and will not let the player go for a cheap price, if they decide to sell.

With ordinary players in various leagues around the world earning handsome salaries, there is no doubt about that the player will be one of the most expensive buys of the summer. Manchester City and Chelsea are the two of the richest clubs of the world, so they would not mind splurging money for the Brazilian striker, who has been one of the hottest properties of world football.

With Manchester City having offloaded Mario Balotelli in the January transfer window, they would not get in a better replacement than Neymar for next season. Chelsea, likewise has not been happy with the performance of Fernando Torres, so they got in Demba Ba, but that is not going to help their cause, if they want to succeed in Europe and Premier League next season. Neymar is the answer to their solutions.
