Football January transfers: Ba signs for Chelsea, Joe Cole to West Ham, Llorente in talks with Juventus

Joe Cole West Ham

Demba Ba, one of the hottest properties of EPL has signed for Chelsea, which was more or less expected. Chelsea offered him GBP 7 million, which is a bargain buy for such a quality player. The player would be a welcome addition in Chelsea, where the club has been inconsistent during the season. He would partner alongside Fernando Torres. But, they would not be able to sign Falcao, who would not leave the club during January transfer.

Liverpool has also let go one of their flop stars, Joe Cole to West Ham with the player handed a GBP 3 million pay-off. Liverpool were not eager to put Joe Cole on the wage list. The move was completed last night. It could well be a good move for Cole, who will be guaranteed playing time, where he can showcase his skills on the pitch. It was when he played at West Ham that the player got noticed in English football, where he is still respected and loved. It would be homecoming for Cole at West Ham.

Fernando Llorente, who was eyed by many EPL clubs might not join any of the EPL clubs , as it has been reported that the player is set to hold talks for his transfer to Italian giants, Juventus. If the right price comes through, his club, Athletico Madrid would not mind bidding adieu to the player. But another player from Athletico Madrid, Arda Turan is not going to leave the club this January, but we could well see him transferred to some other clubs in the summer.

Schalke midfielder, Lewis Holtby, who has been watched closely by both Arsenal as well as Tottenham Hotsput may see the player sign for the latter club. He might sign a pre-contract with Tottenham, but there is no certainty about the deal at the moment.
