As expected, Liverpool were one of the first teams off the block in the January transfer window 2012/2013 after Daniel Sturridge signed for Liverpool for an undisclosed fee. But, some expect it to be around GBP 12 million, which may be less than what the player wanted. He would be wearing jersey number 15 for Liverpool. They were in a serious need of a striker, which they have acquired now. Demba Ba is also very close on signing his terms with Chelsea, who could partner alongside Fernando Torres.

Daniel Sturridge has agreed to play in any position that Brendan Rodgers would ask him to, not necessarily central role. He has also taken a dip in terms of his weekly wages that he received in Chelsea. But, one thing is for sure that the player has come up with a deal, which would secure him more playing time on the pitch. Liverpool would also likewise be able to give some rest to Luis Suarez when required, who has single-handedly carried Liverpool on his shoulders.

Demba Ba has interested a number of teams as he is available for transfer with the release clause in his contract. Chelsea seems to be very close on heels to sign the Newcastle United striker. Some newspapers have even reported that the player is going to set for a medical today. If the player becomes a Chelsea player, the team is going to benefit a lot out of it for the quality he brings to the squad.

Elsewhere David Moyes, the Everton manager has ruled out the possibility of selling Leighton Baines in January, who has attracted interest primarily from Manchester United. So, Machester United have to wait till the summer. Lewis Holtby is on all probability going to ply his trade in the EPL, as he is expected to join either Tottenham Hotspur or Arsenal this month. The latter has also shown interest in attracting the Southampton player, Luke Shaw as well. Sunderland is keen on the former Everton player, Tim Cahill on loan from New York Red Bulls.
