Pepe Reina out, Ince, Butland and Sturridge in for Liverpool?

Pepe Reina Liverpool

Brendan Rodgers is in serious need to conduct some business during the January Transfer window to bolster Liverpool’s squad. There are a number of players who have been linked with Liverpool and the latest in the list are Jack Butland or young German prospect Ron-Robert Zieler, who might replace Reina under the bar. Other players such as Daniel Sturridge, Thomas Ince have also been linked closely of late. In the past Huntelaar and Walcott have also been linked.

Pepe Reina has not been in the best of form ever since the last season and has been making mistakes resulting in goals, which has cost Liverpool if not every-time, but sometimes. Brendan Rodgers considers Jack Butland to be a good goalie and might go in for the keeper during the transfer window. A deal was very close in the summer between the two as well, but, somehow, it did not materilaise. It has been understood if Pepe Reina is shown the exit door, then Arsenal might be interested in the Spanish kepper, as Szczesny has not been able to impress Wenger on a consistent basis. But will the deproving Reina impress Wenger?

But, Liverpool’s main focus would lie on acquiring the services of a striker, who could support Luis Suarez. There has been a number of chances that has been created by Liverpool players, but they have always found one man short inside the box. Hence, Rodgers has lined up Sturridge as answer to the solution, as Sturridge is not happy with Chelsea, who has always preferred Torres and benched him.

But, in the past few days there were reports which claimed that Sturridge demanded certain weekly salary along with a position of his choice. Sturridge representatives has denied it saying that he does not conduct his business in public, and has not demanded for contract of £80,000 a week. One does not know, how much of it is true, but it is a fact that Sturridge would get more playing time if he comes to Anfield. Sturridge might be offered a GBP 12 million deal. As far as their former player, Thomas Ince is concerned, Rodgers is interested in the player and might be able to get the player back for GBP 6 million after they sold to Blackpool in 2011.

We do not know if at all any of these deals would shape up or not, but it is for sure that Liverpool need to get some reinforcements during the January Transfer window, especially a striker at the least, who could bang in goals for Liverpool, left right and centre.
