FA cup third round fixtures

The draw for FA cup third round has been announced, but there are no big matches, which would grab all the attention. Big clubs always keep their fingers crossed as they would not want to face a tough team in the initial rounds of the competition itself and indeed big clubs such as Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City are expected to reach the fourth round of the competition as they will face easier opponents and more importantly non – EPL teams.

But, the same cannot be said for Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea, who are set to face West Ham, Swansea and Southampton respectively. These are the matches that would relatively receive worldwide attention compared to other fixtures. It could be a tricky affair for Manchester, Arsenal and Chelsea, as they would be trying to press for the EPL title and use this FA cup as an opportunity to test their youngsters, but with their opponents being a stronger unit as well, their managers might have to think twice before fielding their inexperienced players on the playing surface.
