Liverpool’s Brendan Rodgers smart move: Sahin, Tello on loan?

August 15, 2012

Brendan Rodgers, Sahin and Tello on loan

Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers has been impressive in the two transfers, Joe Allen and Fabio Borini under his reign at Liverpool Football Club. He did not cough up huge money for these players in the inflated market, where other clubs are just splurging money like Paris Saint Germain. He knows them personally, so he knew what is in the plate for him? Client Dempsey has also been another signing, which he was eyeing, but there has been no success off late. Here too, he is not ready to shell out more.

There are lots of rumours about Liverpool’s interest in Barcelona’s Tello and Real Madrid’s Sahin on loan for a year. If the deal is done and the players turn out to be impressive, Liverpool could well go in for a permanent transfer deal next season. But this has to be mentioned in the contract. This is Brendan’s another way of not paying much. If they qualify for Champions’ league, then the players might be themselves interested for a permanent deal. These players could well sign for the club, as they would be given more chances to play than their present clubs, Barcelona and Real Madrid who more or less use them from their bench.  But one has to agree that Liverpool needs to sign few more players before the transfer window closes.

Liverpool spent around GBP 100 million to sign six players or so under Kenny Dalglish’s reign as the manager of the club. Most of these players were disappointing during the season. John Henry, the owner of the club was not happy during the end of the season; hence he was sacked from the club. But, Brendan seems to have a different way of thinking and his wise spending will only make the owner happy. Breandan has made it clear that he is not going to go all out (cost) for players, but still sign players who fits into his scheme of things.

It is understood that Liverpool has not been eyeing great and established stars, as they are not in the champions’ league, but he has selected players with potential, who could take the team forward. So, one cannot call the new manager a miser on any count.

Whatever one has seen of Liverpool off late under Rodgers, they have been really impressive, where the players have also been pleased with their style of football and the responsibility that has been handed over to them. Hence, the EPL 2012/2013 is what all Liverpool fans have been waiting to kick-off.
