Joe Allen is officially a Liverpool player. This is a move, which was sure to happen, though for some reason or the other, the move was getting delayed. Swansea had some reservations about selling one of their best players.  But Liverpool’s new manager, Brendan Rodgers was very keen to sign the player and has achieved his goal. Liverpool signed the player for GBP 15 million, even more than Rodgers first signing, Fabio Borini.

The player is expected to fit into Rodgers style of tiki-taka style of football. He could be a great addition in the centre of the park for Liverpool, which was left void after Adam’s not so impressive display last season. Adam will be warming the bench this season with Allen’s inclusion. Allen should straight away walk into Liverpool’s midfield position to partner alongside Gerrard. Things look promising with the player of Allen’s potential, who has been impressive under Brendan Rodgers during his Swansea stint.

Some may feel that the player is over rated, but not the man who is incharge of the transfers, Brendan Rodgers. He was in full praise for the player who even said that he was ready to cash in some more bucks to land the player. This statement speaks highly about how high the former Swansea manager rates the young player, who is just 22 years of age.

He could be the right person with Gerrard playing more of an attacking position with Allen being the playmaker, who also loves to attack. He is an astute of a midfielder who also hates giving the ball away and goes all out to retrieve it. This is what Brendan Rodgers wants from his players. He wants each and every player to fight for the ball hence having a better possession of the ball.

Joe Allen is Rodgers second signing for Liverpool. Though, there are rumours that the Liverpool manager is interested in signing few more players before the transfer window closes. Will these signings turn fortunes for Liverpool?
