Indian Cricket team

The Indian cricketers have had enough rest to put up a good display in the upcoming series against Sri lanka. India’s tour of Sri Lanka would be kicking off tomorrow, 21stJuly with its first ODI match scheduled to be played at Hambantota. The Indian team would be eager to start off their new season well, ahead of their busy calendar year.

On paper, it is very difficult to pick a favourite between the two sides for they possess stars players to the galore who can turn games on their head. India definitely boast quality players such as Virender Sehwag, Gambhir, Dhoni, Raina etc. They have not been playing competitive cricket post IPL , but they are professionals who will not take much time to get used to the conditions. India have sent a strong squad to clinch the series. But one has to understand playing Sri Lanka at home is not an easy task for they are masters on their home soil.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka has been playing good cricket off late. They recently beat Pakistan too, where their players put up an impressive performance. It is their all round performances with both the bat and ball, which impresses most cricket fans. Dilshan, Sangakkara, Jayawardene have been some of their consistent performers for a very long time, This time too, it would be no different with the Sri Lankan team highly dependent on these players to score important runs. L. Malinga as usual will be the biggest threat to Indians with his toe crushers and slow variations.

Both teams would prefer to start the series on a winning note so as to take a lead in the best of 5 ODI series. Hence, the game will be an entertaining one with both sides giving it their all.

  1. Both the teams has their benefits tomorrow. Sri Lanka being continuously recently playing cricket will definitely have more match practice where as after a busy season of IPL etc Indian team will be completely rejuvenated after a good off season.

    • But, they are professionals and they need to hit the right gear from the first ODI.
