June 26, 2012

Olivier Giroud, Arsenal transfers,

The news of Olivier Giroud joining Arsenal had been for long doing rounds and it has come true. The player from Montpellier, has been unveiled as an Arsenal player. He is Arsenal’s second major signing of the year after they signed the German international, Lucas Podolski. Giroud is expected to have cost the club around GBP 13million. It is a good buy for the gunners, as they did not have to pay huge money to sign the French player.

He has proved to be a huge hit with his former club, Montpellier, where he was one of the key players during the season. He was the top goal scorer for the French club. He has an impressive record for his national team too.

He is a very strong player and his aerial ability is one of the best in the business. His physical stature also makes opponents fear. He can be a lethal striker in the EPL along with the attacking strength of the Gunners. But, it is for sure that the player would be tested, as EPL is one of the fastest and the most competitive league across the world too.Does he have enough in him to impress the EPL fans?

Does Olivier Giroud signature for Arsenal mean that Robin Van Persie would be sold to some other club for a greater amount. If this is the case, it could be a wise move for the player and the club with only a year left on his contract.

It is a known fact that Manchester City is interested in signing the player. So, it could be a great chance for City to sign the player, as it would also strengthen their squad. In the coming weeks or so, we can expect Van Persie’s club future to be decided too.
