Wimbledon 2012 draw announced, Nadal gets an easy route

June 23, 2012

Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Andy Murray

One of the most awaited Tennis Grand Slams of the year, Wimbledon is set to start from 25th of June 2012. The seedings of the competition had been recently announced; hence all eyes were set on the fixtures of the championship. It took place yesterday. The draw has been very lucky for the Spaniard, Rafael Nadal, who is not going to face either Federer or Djokovic until the finals. He might have to face Murray in the semi-finals, only if the British player shows his good game to reach the last 4.

Federer and Djokovic have been placed in the same half so, they might face one another in the semi-finals of the competition. If it does happen, it is going to be great match as Federer is one of the best players on the grass court and Djokovic has been one of the in-form players on all surfaces. So, there are no huge favourites for the Championship. But, it is understood that the top 4 seeds of the competition namely Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Andy Murray have maximum chances of winning the title.

Nadal is scheduled to play Thomaz Belluci, while the top seed, Djokovic will face Juan Carlos Ferrero in the first round of the competition. Djokovic match could be a tricky affair, unlike Nadal. Federer faces an easy outing against another Spain player, Albert Ramos. The local favourite, Andy Murray has to be on top of his game as he will play against, Nikolay Davydenko, who has achieved a ranking of number 3 in the ATP circuit during his prime.
