Rafael Nadal knocked out

Rafael Nadal, who won the French Open 2012 title was knocked out of the Halle Open after he lost his match to Philipp Kohlschreiber. He lost the match in straight sets, where the score read 6-3 and 6-4.

It was for the first time that the Spaniard lost against Philipp Kohlschreiber. He had always got the better out of the player in his previous outing, but this time, Philipp came up with a better game against Nadal, which seems to have taken the French Open champion by surprise.

Philipp Kohlschreiber, the defending champion would be upbeat after defeating a world class player in the form of Nadal during the quarter finals of the competition. He is scheduled to play against the winner between Tommy Haas and Tomas Berdych in the last four stage of the competition.

This defeat does not auger well for the champion, Nadal, as this tournament are warm up championships leading up to the Wimbledon, which is considered to be one of the most important grand slam. The players needs to transform his game to suit the grass courts of England in order to challenge for the title.
