Don’t look elsewhere, Di Matteo is the right manager for Chelsea

May 25, 2012

Di Matteo, new Chelsea manager,

Chelsea did not have a good domestic competition. They failed miserably in the English Premier League, as per their standards. Had Didier Drogba not scored a header in the dying minutes of the Champions League final, they would not have qualified for the Champions League. They won the FA cup too. It was under Di Matteo that they managed to win both these trophies, who replaced AV Boas in the final lap of the season. But still, the Chelsea think tank are looking for manager elsewhere.

Though, Matteo is not entirely out of contention. He may still get one of the most coveted jobs in Chelsea. He achieved what many other managers of the recent past could not, win the elusive Champions league. This is definitely one of his strong points. Managers such as Phil Scolari, Guus Hiddink, Jose Mourinho failed to win the Champions League with Chelsea. But, Matteo did it in his own style in a very short span. These points can’s just be ignored by the Russian business tycoon, Roman Abramovich, Chelsea’s owner.

When Matteo took over the charge from AV Boas, the team was in in its worst possible condition. Players were not satisfied with each other ‘s performance. They were not playing the game , which they were acquainted to. There was something wrong in the system. Abramovich spotted the rotten apple in the Chelsea dressing room and sacked AV Boas from his job, after which their was a new lease of life that these players got under Di Matteo, which is evident from the results, post AVB era. He brought the team back from the doldrums. These above mentioned facts should make him one of the strongest contenders for the vacant position at Chelsea.

Chelsea has to be clever or in fact quick in appointing their new manager, as Liverpool are also looking for a suitable managerial candidate. Chelsea would hate to see their managerial choice signing for Anfield. Who knows, if Liverpool are also targeting Di Matteo, who ticks most of Fenway Sports group boxes for a new manager.

Liverpool are looking for AV Boas, and Chelsea will most probably retain Di Matteo

    • But, guess, Martinez is favourite for Liverpool. Chelsea should retain mAtteo, but you never know with Chelsea who have a bad track record with managers….

I do not know what Abrahamovic is still looking 4, despite all he spent on world class coaches, none of dem achieve what Di Matteo has achieved. If he( Abrahamovic ) fails 2 give Di Matteo d full Chelsea manager, then, he is an ingrate. He does not appreciate d man good work and let me tell you, nemesis will catch up with d team. Di Matteo should not take anything less dan 2yrs contract from him. I learnt Liverpool is interested in him, he should go and accept d Liverpool job, GOd will be with him. As 4 d new coach dat is coming 2 Chelsea, wait and see what will happen 2 d team next season. If Di Matteo eventually takes up job frm any other club, dat club remains my club, dat means Chelsea is not realible team one shld follow.

  3. I don’t think they should appoint him. look at my blog to see why… i wrote about it!

  4. I read it , sorry to say, but i dont agree to ur post…..
